The Challenge

Halo Smart Labs was established upon the principle of innovation. The company’s co-founders had a desire to reinvent a stagnant category of home and residential management: life safety devices. Halo Smart Labs designed the Halo and Halo+ to be connected to the internet as well as to each other, and to be operable through smartphones. They also wanted their devices to be able to pull in weather data, as to alert users in cases of natural disasters, such as tornadoes, and deliver customers the highest degree of home safety.

While the co-founders knew early-on they wanted to connect their products, they lacked the bandwidth and sought out an IoT partner that could provide an easy-to-use platform but also deep subject matter expertise.

The Solution

Halo Smart Labs’ co-founders began using Xively’s IoT Platform and working with Xively Professional Services early-on in their connected product entrepreneurial journey. In creating a strong partnership with Xively at the outset, Halo Smart Labs was able to utilize Xively’s experience and expertise to guide product features and functionality as well as establish credibility in the market.
